The Design Engineer is a crucial link in our overall development process. Working closely with the designer, project manager, and the rest of the project team, the engineer is responsible for detailing creative designs—either from our own design team or from our customers—into products that can be efficiently produced in series at our production and assembly facilities across the globe.
From the first client briefing, you will develop creative technical solutions for manufacturing our products. These solutions will incorporate a wide variety of in-house production techniques and specialist techniques from various suppliers, ensuring a balance between product design, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.

Role specifics and responsibilities:
- Support our 3D designers during the creative process by assessing the technical feasibility and optimizing the production costs of their designs.
- Detail one or more alternative concept constructions in sketches for the purpose of making an initial cost estimate by the production team in Poland.
- Create and present technical presentations to clients to collaboratively decide on the best execution within their budget and timelines.
- Align technical production details with either our own production team or a wide range of suppliers (in the fields of metal constructions, injection molding parts, and aluminum extrusions).
- Complete the technical concept development of the most optimal construction by creating the necessary 3D drawings for prototype production, until the level our production engineering teams can take over.
- Assist, where necessary, in the build-up of the first prototype with the goal of further optimizing the construction for production and installation.
Job requirements:
College (HBO) Level of working and thinking in a technical field, Such as Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Product Design, obtained through education or experience
- Excellent proficiency in 3D CAD systems (preferably Solidworks), with skills in hand sketching being a plus.
- Work experience is advantageous. Ideally, we are looking for a candidate with 2 to 6 years of experience, but quick-learning juniors are also welcome to apply.
- Preferably, experience in developing products that combine various production techniques, including wood and metal constructions and plastic processing. Experience with plastic injection molded parts and aluminum extrusion profiles is an advantage.
- An inquisitive attitude to thoroughly master and apply the technical knowledge of the production techniques used by Outform and its suppliers.
- Flexible and driven, you see changes as challenges, and multitasking is no problem for you.
