Middle Backend Engineer

Digiteum, a custom software development company, is looking for a Backend Engineer (.NET/C#) to join our team and work on an exciting project. The Client is the world leader in human language technology and the primary provider of quality lexical data to academics, technologists, and businesses around the globe.

Together, we build and support lexical products which are licensed and used by startups and tech giants (Amazon, Apple, Google, Microsoft) to develop NLP software, search engines, multilingual applications, and machine translators.

Join our team of experts as a Middle Backend Engineer.

Responsibilities

You’ll work on projects that bring language data to life. Specifically, you will:

  • Improve and extend the dictionary conversion pipeline for lexical data.
  • Parse and process structured and unstructured dictionary data (XML, CSV, PDF, TXT, JSON, etc.).
  • Convert dictionary data into target XML formats for further use.
  • Create and maintain CLI tools and scripts to automate conversion processes.
  • Collaborate closely with QAs and PM to ensure quality and accuracy of lexical data.
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements to parsing, data conversion, and overall workflow.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience in C# and .NET Framework (4.x).
  • Experience working with XML/HTML/JSON/CSV data formats.
  • Understanding of Regex and text parsing technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of Python for scripting or automation.
  • English level B2+ (comfortable communication in an international environment).
  • University degree in Information Technology / Computer Science
  • Proactive mindset and curiosity to improve systems and processes
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of text processing algorithms
  • Proficiency in other foreign languages — helpful when working with multilingual lexical data
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins)
  • Experience writing CLI utilities
  • Familiarity with scripting (Bash, PowerShell)
  • Basic experience with databases and REST APIs
  • Interest in linguistics and foreign languages
