Senior Game Optimisation Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Game Optimisation Engineer with experience in low-level game engine development and technical leadership. They will have an opportunity to influence the technical direction and own technical workflows within the team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with game engine development and optimisation.

As a Senior Game Optimization Engineer you will:

• Technical leadership of a small team of engineers.
• Oversee the full development cycle of research projects.
• Propose new ideas with tangible benefits that advance mobile gaming.
• Optimize AAA mobile games and game engines.
• Lead the development of plugins, Android Framework APIs and demos focused on improving game performance.

Required Skills

• A degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Natural Science, Mathematics, Engineering or any related discipline (an equivalent period of industrial experience may be substituted)
• Experience with low-level development and optimisation of commercial game engines.
• Experience with technical leadership of a small team.
• Practical understanding of game engine technologies and pipelines (graphics, physics, collisions etc.)
• Expert knowledge of modern C++ and how it maps to assembly.
• Ability to lead research initiatives from proposal through to productisation.
• The desire to travel regularly to help game companies around the world.

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with Java and C#.
• Knowledge of Arm 64-bit, AOSP, Android etc.
• Familiarity with Graphics APIs.
• Experience with Unreal Engine and Unity is plus.

Contract Type: Permanent

Job Location: Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey, UK

Hybrid Working: Standard working week will be 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home if preferred
