As the Business Intelligence Analyst, you will independently translate business requirements into actionable data insights. The role involves defining KPIs, analysing large and complex datasets, and delivering clear, compelling data stories through advanced visualization and analytics tools. As the analyst you will engage with business stakeholders to embed data-driven thinking and champion the use of BI and analytics tools for smarter, faster decisions.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business and clinical teams to understand needs, translate them into analytics solutions, and define KPIs that measure performance and outcomes.
- Design, build, and maintain BI dashboards and reports that support strategic, operational, and clinical decision-making.
- Develop advanced SQL queries and work with large, complex datasets from multiple systems while ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Use Python or R for data wrangling, statistical analysis, and predictive analytics when required.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams on ETL/ELT pipelines, data transformations, and data warehouse enhancements.
- Apply strong knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts, including:
- Star & snowflake schemas.
- Fact/dimension table design.
- Data modelling and data integration best practices
- Present insights effectively through clear storytelling, data visualization, and concise presentations.
- Manage analytics projects end-to-end, working independently to deliver high-quality outputs on time.
- Maintain strong data governance standards, ensuring accuracy, transparency, documentation, and compliance with internal quality practices.
- What We’re Looking For
- A strong blend of technical analytics expertise and business consulting skills.
- Ability to work confidently with enterprise data warehouse environments and ensure high-quality, reliable data for reporting and analytics.
- Someone who can influence decisions across healthcare, diagnostics, and operational teams using data-driven insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- BI certifications (e.g., Microsoft Power BI) are preferred but not required.
- Advanced Power BI expertise, including data modeling, DAX, and strong visualization skills.
- Strong SQL proficiency, with experience writing optimized queries, complex joins, procedures, and working with large datasets.
- Hands-on experience with Python or R for data preprocessing, statistical analysis, and analytical modeling.
- Solid understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, data transformations, and enterprise data warehouse concepts (star/snowflake schemas, fact/dimension modelling).
- Ability to work confidently with large, complex, multi-source datasets and ensure data quality and consistency.
- Familiarity with predictive analytics and statistical methods (preferred but not required).
- Excellent data storytelling and presentation skills, able to turn insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical reasoning capabilities.
- Highly independent, proactive, and solution-oriented, with the ability to manage end-to-end analytics projects.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
- Prior experience in healthcare, diagnostics, or life sciences analytics is a strong advantage.
- BI certifications (e.g., Microsoft Power BI) are preferred but not required.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including its data-platform components, dataflows/pipelines, or lakehouse/warehouse architecture is highly desired.
