We’re looking for a Data Scientist who’s confident working with Databricks, enjoys experimenting with machine learning techniques, and is comfortable navigating complex financial datasets. If you thrive in consulting-style environments and love turning data into meaningful stories, this role is for you.
What You'll Work On
- Dive into large financial and transactional datasets to uncover trends, patterns and anomalies.
- Build and refine features that capture behavioural, temporal and categorical signals.
- Develop and validate ML and statistical forecasting models — ARIMA, Prophet, XGBoost, LSTM and more.
- Explore ensemble and hybrid methods to boost forecast accuracy.
- Use Databricks for end-to-end model development, experiment tracking and performance monitoring.
- Benchmark model performance and communicate improvements to business teams.
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Data Engineering and Platform teams to ensure scalable delivery.
- Maintain clear documentation to support future implementation phases.
What You Bring
- Strong technical experience with Python, PySpark, SQL and Databricks.
- Deep understanding of time-series forecasting, statistical modelling and ensemble methods.
- Experience with ML libraries such as scikit-learn, statsmodels, TensorFlow/PyTorch, Prophet and MLflow.
- Background working with financial, sales or budgeting datasets, with an understanding of seasonal and fiscal patterns.
- Ability to translate complex data insights into clear narratives for non-technical audiences.
- Skilled in visualising results and linking model outcomes to business impact.
- Hands-on experience building, testing and comparing multiple models across scenarios.
- Familiar with cross-validation, feature selection and performance metrics .
- Curious, detail-oriented and collaborative, with a mindset centred on experimentation and iteration.
