Machine Learning Engineer

A major bank in Ghent is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to develop and deploy ML solutions for fraud detection, credit risk, AML, and customer analytics. You will work within a regulated environment and contribute to secure, scalable AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain ML models and end-to-end pipelines.
• Deploy models to production and monitor performance.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR and internal security standards.
• Collaborate with data science, IT, risk, and compliance teams.
• Implement model explain ability and documentation for audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong Python skills; experience with Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Experience deploying ML models in production (APIs, pipelines).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP), Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of secure data handling and regulated environments.

Nice to Have

• Banking or fintech experience.
• Knowledge of credit risk, AML, or fraud analytics.
• Experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow).
• Dutch language skills are a plus.
