As a Software Engineer, you will be part of an agile, cross-functional team that designs and develops mission-critical digital platforms for the public sector. You will work across the full technology stack — creating responsive front-end applications and robust backend services that are reliable, secure, and scalable.
The position offers exposure to a wide range of technologies and opportunities for growth. This is an ideal role for engineers who are passionate about learning, problem-solving, and building impactful solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable and tested features across the full stack — including responsive portal plugins using Next.js, Redux, and JavaScript, and backend services using Java, Python, and C++.
- Work in Agile teams, contributing to sprint planning, development, reviews, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with QA, UI/UX, and DevOps engineers to ensure technical robustness and user-centric design.
- Implement unit and integration tests to support automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and production issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in code reviews, maintain documentation, and adhere to secure coding best practices.
- (Optional) Support architecture design or system integration work with government authentication or data exchange frameworks.
Requirements
- At least 1–3 years of hands-on experience in software development.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language — Java, Python, or C++.
- Experience developing front-end applications using Next.js, Redux, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, object-oriented programming, and secure coding practices.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, GitLab, Confluence).
- Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in teams.
- (Bonus) Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) or real-time/IoT systems.
- Opportunity to work on meaningful public sector digital initiatives.
- A supportive, purpose-driven team culture.
- Structured career development and technical upskilling.
- Access to modern tools, cloud technologies, and secure DevSecOps environments.
Shortlisted applicants may be involved in classified or sensitive projects that require handling of restricted information. As such, selected candidates will be required to undergo a security clearance process as part of the employment consideration.
