Role Overview:
As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) specializing in Kafka, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability, scalability, and performance of Kafka platforms. You will automate routine tasks, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations of distributed systems. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, operational discipline, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Essential Skills:
- Kafka Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Kafka components (producers, consumers, topics, partitions).
- Automation: Experience with Ansible, shell scripting, and Python for automating manual tasks.
- Linux/Unix Systems: Strong understanding of system internals, networking, and distributed systems.
- Troubleshooting: Ability to debug and resolve complex issues in large-scale distributed systems.
Experience Requirements:
- Junior Level: 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Mid/Senior Level: 5+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer with a focus on Kafka platforms.
Desirable Skills:
- Advanced knowledge and experience in Kafka platform design and optimization.
