Azure DevOps/Implementation Engineer – e5 Workflow (Australia)
Full Time | Remote | Must have full Australian work rights
e5 Workflow is growing, and we’re looking for a talented Mid/Senior Implementation Engineer to join our DevOps Team. If you thrive in a technical, cloud-first environment and enjoy solving complex problems that deliver real customer value, this is the role for you.
Who we are
e5 Workflow is a company with a significant customer base in Australia, as well as a growing business in the USA. We are passionate about our product and its ability to deliver value to our customers and have an ambitious vision for it. The Company was established in 1989 and has built the world’s best priority processing ingredient brand to sit inside the best in breed software platforms in the General Insurance, Private Health Insurance, Revenue Cycle Management and Financial Services markets. e5 Workflow has access to the global support and engineering facilities of Microsoft to ensure the optimum support of our client’s e5 workflow solution.
About the role
You will be responsible for delivery and optimisation of complex customer implementations across the e5 Workflow platform. You will work across Azure DevOps, Azure cloud services, SQL, automation and deployment pipelines to ensure our customers receive reliable, scalable and high-quality solutions. This is not an infrastructure/platform engineer role.
You’ll regularly work directly with customers on professional services projects, guiding them through deployment processes, discussing technical considerations and ensuring a smooth delivery experience. The role requires someone who is detail oriented, customer focused, and able to perform strongly in a remote environment with a flat structure.
We need someone who naturally owns their performance and outcomes, is proactive rather than needing to be directed, and is comfortable adapting to changing priorities with a strong work ethic in taking accountability. Our production deployments sometimes take place outside standard business hours, so a willingness to work flexibly when required is important.
What you’ll be doing
- End-to-end technical delivery of customer implementations
- Design, build and optimise Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines (YAML)
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (Bicep) and deployment automation
- Lead deployment planning, run-sheet development and cutovers
- Troubleshoot complex Azure, SQL and integration issues
- Improve environment stability, monitoring and reliability
- Work directly with customers on deployments and technical walkthroughs
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, QA and Customer Delivery teams
- Contribute to incident reviews, RCA and proactive remediation
- Produce high-quality technical documentation and architecture artefacts
What we’re looking for
- Excellent communication skills
- Confidence working directly with customers on professional services or implementation projects
- Detail oriented, thorough and quality driven
- Customer focused with strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, flat-structured team
- Self-driven, proactively owns outcomes and doesn’t need to be led
- Strong problem-solving capability and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- Absolute passion for learning, technology and continuous improvement
- Willingness to work flexibly, including out-of-hours deployments when scheduled
- 4+ years in Azure DevOps, Implementation Engineering or Cloud Delivery (non-infrastructure)
- Deep experience with Azure DevOps (repos, pipelines, environments, automation)
- Strong SQL and T-SQL experience including performance tuning
- Solid understanding of Azure services (App Services, Functions, Key Vault, Azure SQL, Storage, Event Grid, Application Insights, API Management)
- Skilled in PowerShell, Bicep, YAML and automation scripting
- AI & associated tooling for automation and increasing team productivity
Bonus (not required)
- Azure certifications (AZ-104 / AZ-204)
- Experience in SaaS or enterprise platform environments
Work rights requirement
Applicants must have full Australian working rights (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or unrestricted Visa). We are unable to sponsor visas for this role.
Why join e5 Workflow?
- Highly supportive team with a “people-first” culture
- Opportunity to influence DevOps maturity and automation strategy
- Work on impactful, high-value customer solutions
- Flexibility to work remotely within Australia
If you’re a driven Mid/Senior Azure DevOps/Implementation Engineer who enjoys technical depth, ownership and customer-facing delivery, we’d love to hear from you.
