Production Support Engineer | Hedge Fund | Sydney

The Role:

A leading quantitative hedge fund seeks a Production Support Engineer for its Sydney team. This is a hybrid role with equal focus on proactive production support and development/automation. The position involves maintaining the stability of live trading systems and using software engineering to build solutions that improve resilience and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Level 1/2 support for trading platforms during core hours.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical incidents in the production environment.
• Develop automation scripts, tools, and monitoring solutions.
• Manage and optimize cloud (AWS) and on-premise infrastructure.
• Collaborate with quantitative researchers and traders.

Required Experience:

• 3+ years in production support or SRE within trading or financial services.
• 2+ years of software development experience with Python. (Proficiency in C# is advantageous but not mandatory.)
• Hands-on experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Proven ability to support low-latency, critical systems.
• An automation-focused mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
