Senior Java Team Lead - Munich (m/f/d)

My client, a long-established organisation in the energy and digital services sector, is expanding its technology division and is looking for an experienced Senior Java Team Lead to support this growth. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining hands-on development work with technical leadership and team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Java development team and oversee the full software lifecycle - from planning and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Work closely with product owners, architects, and other teams to translate requirements into reliable, scalable backend solutions.
• Stay involved in development while providing technical direction and coaching to the team.
• Conduct code reviews and support knowledge sharing to ensure consistent engineering standards.
• Take responsibility for system performance, stability, security, and long-term maintainability.
• Act as a technical contact for cross-team initiatives and contribute to architectural and strategic decisions.

Profile

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, with several years of professional experience in Java backend development.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring/Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and relational databases.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud technologies (ideally AWS or Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, software architecture, automated testing, and agile methodologies.
• Strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a focus on writing clean, maintainable code.
