About the role
We are one of the key players in the Nordic region insurance field. Our IT unit takes care of insurance systems across the Baltics and Scandinavian countries. We are working with a broad scope of various in-house projects to keep our primary business growing. Furthermore, we consider ourselves Cloud citizens as our daily work revolves on top of cloud-based solutions.
Starting in November, our Platform squad will take over the NGINX infrastructure across all Baltic environments. The squad is at full capacity, and we have critical backlog items that require attention. This hire will own key infrastructure components and operational workflows, ensuring our platforms are secure, observable, resilient, and continually improving.
What are you going to do?
- Design, build, operate, and continuously improve core platform components within squad scope (Azure VMs, NGINX, build agents, RabbitMQ).
- Maintain and evolve NGINX infrastructure hosted in Azure, including templated configurations, staged delivery, and safe rollback.
- Handle support requests for NGINX, build agents, pipelines, and 3rd party components hosted in Kubernetes; participate in incident response.
- Perform regular upgrades and patching.
- Manage RabbitMQ clusters: version upgrades, plugin compatibility.
- Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs for platform components; reduce alert noise and ensure actionable alerting.
- Build and maintain dashboards and runbooks; conduct regular log reviews (ELK/Splunk).
- Own disaster recovery planning, backups, and periodic recovery testing for platform infrastructure.
- Codify infrastructure and configuration using GitOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
- Maintain living documentation (“how-we-run” guides, architecture diagrams, FAQs) and share knowledge across squads.
- Participate in squad ceremonies (e.g. dailies, plannings, reviews, retros, et.c) and contribute to continuous improvement.
What do we expect from you?
Must have
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Platform/Infrastructure/Operations engineering.
- Strong Azure experience: VM management, Key Vault, TLS certificates, networking basics (NSGs, routing).
- Production experience with NGINX (configuration, SSL/TLS, basic load balancing, WAF troubleshooting).
- Experience administering RabbitMQ (cluster configuration, plugins, upgrades).
- CI/CD with Azure DevOps (pipelines, agent configuration, lifecycle management).
- Expert in Linux server administration, including patching and scripting. Observability tooling (ELK Stack and/or Splunk) for logs, dashboards, and alerting.
- Docker fundamentals for building and troubleshooting images/containers.
- Kubernetes basics (troubleshooting pods, reading logs).
- Git and GitOps/IaC working habits.
- A good/excellent level of English and Latvian to communicate with colleagues from Latvia and other countries.
- Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible).

- Relevant education at the bachelor’s level or higher.
- Knowledge in Windows server administration.
- Service mesh concepts.
- Backup strategies, automation, and disaster recovery execution.
- SRE practices (error budgets, capacity planning) and security hardening/compliance awareness.
Our promise to you
- Monthly salary: €3400 – €4000 gross depending on your qualifications.
- Strong company culture: knowledge sharing, company events, engaging speakers, and other inspiring initiatives.
- Career and development opportunities in the biggest insurance company in the Nordics.
- Challenging and exciting projects with autonomy to plan own tasks.
- Extra vacation days, annual bonus, great insurance benefits, discounts on our products for you and your family, gifts, etc.
