Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, support, and optimize complex enterprise network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), firewalls (FortiGate, Cisco ASA), load-balancing technologies (F5), and DNS services. This role involves project leadership, advanced troubleshooting, architecture planning, and ensuring high levels of network availability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Network Architecture & Engineering

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network architectures including LAN, WAN, and data center environments.
  • Develop scalable routing strategies using BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP across multi-site and multi-carrier topologies.
  • Engineer load-balancing solutions using F5 BIG-IP including LTM, GTM, and iRules configurations.
  • Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and integrations in alignment with organizational objectives.

Security & Firewalls

  • Manage and administer Fortinet FortiGate firewalls including security policies, VPNs, routing, and UTM features.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Cisco ASA firewalls including ACLs, NAT, site-to-site/remote-access VPNs, and failover configurations.
  • Participate in security architecture reviews and implement network security best practices.

Operations & Troubleshooting

  • Provide advanced support for complex network incidents, root cause analysis, and performance optimization.
  • Maintain, document, and improve network configuration standards, topology diagrams, runbooks, and procedures.

DNS & Infrastructure Services

  • Manage and support enterprise DNS, DHCP, and IPAM systems (e.g., Infoblox, Microsoft DNS).
  • Implement DNS infrastructure best practices for availability, performance, and security.

Cross-Functional & Project Work

  • Collaborate with security, systems, cloud, and application teams to support business requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for network technologies during project planning.
  • Lead infrastructure-related initiatives, including new deployments, DR planning, and network redesigns.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on network engineering experience in medium-to-large enterprise environments.
  • Expert-level knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
  • Strong experience with FortiGate and Cisco ASA firewalls.
  • Solid knowledge of F5 BIG-IP load balancers (LTM required; GTM/DNS a plus).
  • Proficiency with DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing fundamentals.
  • Ability to diagnose complex network problems using packet captures and diagnostic tools.
  • Solid understanding of network security, segmentation, and best practices.
  • Experience with high availability, redundancy protocols (HSRP/VRRP), and WAN architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as CCNP
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios.).

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and mentor junior team members.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
