In MICROAVIA we are developing a drone-in-a-box solution for critical infrastructure & perimeter surveillance. The heart of the system is server-side software that puts together drones, landing stations, client computers, and other devices. Users have full control over any drone connected to the system, including live video streaming. Operation of the system is highly automated, server software controls all operations: performing flights according to schedule, battery swap, preflight checks, missions uploading, downloading high resolution data after flight, and many other necessary things. A typical setup may count up to 100 drones-in-a-box.

We develop all mechanics, electronics, on-board and ground software ourselves, which allows us to effectively integrate all components with each other and quickly solve issues and implement new features.

We use a wide range of modern technologies and programming languages in our work: C++17, Python, Golang, JavaScript, Typescript, WebGL, GStreamer, and WebRTC. Embedded platforms are STM32, NVIDIA Jetson Nano/Orin NX.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a client-based drone operations project. The role involves managing the full cycle of service delivery — from coordination of drone deployment and flight operations to communication with the client and internal teams. The project will include on-site drone operations performed by our team of pilots working on a rotational basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day project operations, ensuring smooth execution of drone flights at the client’s site.
• Coordinate schedules and rotations of drone pilots, ensuring proper coverage and compliance with operational standards.
• Maintain communication with the client regarding flight planning, mission performance, and reporting — ensuring regular updates are provided both to the client and to headquarters.
• Ensure all operations comply with UAE aviation regulations and company safety protocols.
• Oversee logistics related to drone transportation, maintenance, and readiness.
• Monitor project KPIs, prepare weekly reports, and escalate operational or technical issues when necessary.
• Collaborate closely with technical and engineering teams to address maintenance, firmware updates, and performance optimization.
• Manage documentation and permits required for flights and site access.
• Ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication and professional execution.

Requirements

• Project Management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in aviation, technology, or field operations.
• Strong understanding of drone technology or willingness to quickly learn operational aspects.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
• Experience coordinating distributed or rotational teams.
• Solid communication and reporting abilities in English.
• Familiarity with UAE operational standards, GCAA/DCAA regulations is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
