As an engineer in AML Risk team, you'll help Wise detect and prevent money laundering, and help in our team mission of Clean Money without Borders.
You'll work closely with our cross-functional team comprising of Product, Data Science and Analytics to fight crime, and respond to evolving trends in Money Laundering.
Our Goals Are To
- Build a global money laundering detection system leveraging Machine Learning, LLM's and Real-time transaction monitoring at scale.
- To identify suspicious money laundering activity as early in a customer lifecycle as possible
What does it take?
- A strong product mindset, you prioritise work with the customers and operational teams in mind and make data-driven decisions
- Great communication skills and the ability to articulate complex, technical concepts to non-technical audience
- You have 2+ years of working with Object Oriented Programming Languages. (JVM based languages are a plus), Event Streaming Platforms and microservices
- Experience working with relational databases, query optimisation and designing schemas
- You enjoy writing testable code
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Hands on knowledge of system integration patterns
- You believe in and follow best coding practices, code reviews and open feedback
- Experience with machine learning basics (data pipelines, feature engineering, recall/precision, familiarity with machine learning systems in production) is a huge plus

- You'll closely collaborate with product managers, data scientists, data analysts, engineers and other product teams on a daily basis.
