Huld is a technology design house with more than 400 professionals working across a variety of domains. Currently Huld operates as part of Gofore Group. Our multidisciplinary teams deliver innovative engineering and software solutions for the aerospace, defense, and industrial sectors.
Huld’s space team has provided software for many of Europe’s most ambitious space missions since 1989, including the Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer (GOCE), which mapped Earth's gravity with unprecedented precision; the Herschel Space Observatory, which studied the formation of stars and galaxies; and the Planck satellite, which made significant contributions to our understanding of the early universe by mapping the cosmic microwave background. More recently, we are providing platform software for PLATO mission, which aims to discover and characterize exoplanets and study stellar oscillations. Finally, since 2025 Huld has begun contributing flight software to the LISA mission, a space observatory created to detect gravitational waves.
For its recent contributions to Sentinel-4 and Sentinel-5 missions, our Space team has been awarded with the prestigious Excellence Award as Subcontractor by the European Space Agency (ESA).

Your Role

As a Senior Space Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and integration of spacecraft systems for cutting-edge missions, including ESA programs, Earth Observation (EO) satellites, CubeSat constellations, and advanced flight segment architectures. In this role, you will also have the opportunity to lead our dedicated flight team, guiding skilled engineers through critical phases of spacecraft development. Your leadership will foster a collaborative environment, ensuring that our team remains at the forefront of technological innovation and mission success.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end spacecraft systems engineering activities, from concept design to integration and verification.
- Define and manage system architecture, mission requirements, and interface control for flight segment and avionics.
- Collaborate on flight software development, including design, coding, and validation.
- Lead engineering teams through complex project phases, fostering collaboration and high performance.
- Support sales.
Basic Prerequisites
- Degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
- 15+ years in spacecraft systems engineering or flight software development.
- Strong spacecraft subsystems knowledge and proven experience in requirements analysis, system architecture design, interface definition, and verification & validation for complex space systems.
- Excellent programming skills (C, C++), and experience with real-time operating systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ambitious attitude.
- Fluent English.
- Hands-on experience with commercial missions.
- Familiarity with CubeSat platforms.
- Experience with version control, continuous integration and delivery.
- Experience with agile methodologies and cross-functional team leadership.
- Proven ability to interface with multidisciplinary teams, including hardware, software, and mission operations.
