We are seeking an experienced Agile Applications Manager to join our client's local Digital & IT team, responsible for overseeing the support, maintenance, and enhancement of software applications. The successful candidate will work closely with line-of-business teams, business process owners, software development teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders, using Agile methodologies to drive the strategic development of applications that support the company's goals.

The IT landscape is complex and international, with a mix of global and local systems, legacy and next-generation applications, support teams, and vendors across multiple locations. This role is pivotal in ensuring all components work together effectively to deliver seamless services that align with our global strategy while meeting the specific needs of the Irish market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Software Development Lifecycle: Collaborate with stakeholders to capture and define requirements. Refine demand into user stories, prioritize demand backlogs, and ensure software development meets business requirements, technical specifications, and compliance and quality standards. Oversee the entire software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to release, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements, ensuring efficient and effective use of available resources. Leverage feedback from retrospectives and performance metrics, incorporating best practices for continuous delivery. Implement metrics and KPIs to measure team performance, application quality, and overall effectiveness.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of software developers, analysts, and testers, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Manage team performance, conduct regular reviews, and support the team's growth and development through training and mentorship.
  • Agile Leadership: Guide the team in Agile practices and principles, promoting a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and iterative development. Act as Scrum Master and collaborate to tailor Agile approaches that best suit the local teams and business needs.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Strong technical IT background with a broad understanding of how hardware, networks, databases, and applications interact in real-world settings.
  • A problem-solver with curiosity and a passion for learning new skills.
  • Proven experience in software delivery management, managing cross-functional teams, and facilitating Agile methodologies to achieve successful business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills with attention to detail and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Comfortable in dynamic roles where responsibilities may vary as needed.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • A third-level degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in software application management, with proven experience facilitating cross-functional teams operating within Agile frameworks.
  • Experience in fleet management, leasing, automotive, or financial sectors is desirable.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, plain English for non-technical colleagues and vice versa.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a critical thinking approach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a small team and collaborate with local and global colleagues from diverse cultures.
  • Proactive in suggesting and implementing process improvements.
