As a data scientist, you'll be part of our ABAX central data science team, currently four members strong, develops and maintains core services for 45,000 customers.
You'll develop, deploy, and maintain data-driven models and analytical solutions that improve ABAX’s telematics products and internal processes. Leverage statistical methods, machine learning, generative AI and domain expertise to generate insights, predict customer behavior, and optimize product performance. Contribute across the full data science lifecycle — from problem framing and data engineering through model development, validation, and operationalization.

You'll develop, deploy, and maintain data-driven models and analytical solutions that improve ABAX’s telematics products and internal processes. Leverage statistical methods, machine learning, generative AI and domain expertise to generate insights, predict customer behavior, and optimize product performance. Contribute across the full data science lifecycle — from problem framing and data engineering through model development, validation, and operationalization.
Some of the things you will be working on:
Data Science delivery
- Develop and deploy predictive models (e.g., churn, driver behavior, anomaly detection, prediction models).
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify opportunities and data quality issues.
- Collaborate with data engineers to source, clean, and transform data from telematics devices, ERP, and external APIs.
- Work with cloud environments (e.g., GCP BigQuery, Azure) for large-scale data processing.
- Design and execute experiments (A/B tests, pilots) to validate hypotheses.
- Monitor and evaluate model performance (accuracy, R², accuracy, MAPE, stability).
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, and commercial teams to translate business challenges into data science problems.
- Strong proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
- Experience with SQL and large-scale data platforms (e.g., BigQuery).
- Solid background in statistics, machine learning, and data modeling.
- Familiarity with MLOps practices (CI/CD for ML, model monitoring).
- Ability to visualize and communicate insights (e.g., matplotlib, Jupyter Notebooks, Looker, Looker Studio).
- Knowledge of telematics/IoT data.
- Experience with version control (Git) and agile methodologies.
- Awareness of ethical AI principles and responsible ML practices.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in data Science.
