Position Summary

We’re looking for a seasoned DevOps Engineer who thrives at the intersection of cloud engineering, automation, and large-scale modernization. In this public sector–focused role, you’ll support mission-critical AWS environments, build production-grade Kubernetes ecosystems, and enable development teams to move faster, safer, and smarter.

This is a high-impact delivery role. You’ll serve as a trusted technical partner, a problem-solver, and a champion of best practices—ensuring every project is executed with precision, transparency, and customer-first excellence.

What You’ll Do

Cloud + Kubernetes Engineering

  • Design, deploy, operate, and troubleshoot production microservices environments on Kubernetes (EKS, Helm, CRDs, service mesh tools like Istio/Linkerd/Consul).
  • Build cloud-native CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, CodePipeline, and related tooling.
  • Develop containerized workloads and modern distributed architectures across Dev/Test/Prod.

Infrastructure Automation & AWS Excellence

  • Build repeatable, sustainable IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, and CDK.
  • Automate deployments, testing, and environment promotion across the full SDLC.
  • Script in Bash, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages to streamline operations.
  • Apply tagging, observability, and cost-optimization best practices across AWS estates.

Developer Enablement & CI/CD Leadership

  • Architect and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines.
  • Provide architectural guidance to dev teams.
  • Lead branching strategies, GitOps workflows, and deployment governance.

Migration & Modernization

  • Support migrations from on-prem to AWS, including microservices transformations.
  • Execute migration plans, validate cloud readiness, and decommission legacy systems.

Project Delivery & Team Collaboration

  • Participate in daily standups and technical reviews.
  • Ensure transparency and clear communication across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Operate with urgency, ownership, and a strong customer-service mindset.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of on-the-job experience.
  • 10+ years as a DevOps Engineer / SRE delivering in AWS environments.
  • Active Public Trust (or higher) + U.S. Citizenship (required).
  • Deep Kubernetes experience running microservices in production.
  • Strong scripting + at least one modern programming language proficiency.
  • Expert-level AWS understanding (core services, networking, security, operations).
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD, automation, containers, and Linux/Docker.
  • Strong communication, time management, attention to detail.
  • Ability to support multiple clients/projects in parallel.
  • EST working hours required.

Nice to Have

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (highly preferred).
  • AWS Pro/Specialty Certifications.
  • GitOps (ArgoCD, app-of-apps, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Service mesh (Istio, Linkerd).
  • Static/dynamic code analysis tools (SonarQube, Selenium).
  • Advanced AWS networking expertise.
  • Open-source community contributions.
  • Master's degree in engineering or information systems.
