Skills And Competencies
Must have:
- Proven experience shipping production software (minimum 2 years, end-to-end feature ownership).
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript for both frontend and backend development.
- Experience building responsive web applications using modern React patterns.
- Comfortable working across the stack: UI components, API design, and database queries.
- Knowledge of serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, ECS, or equivalent).
- Comfortable collaborating in a cross-functional environment.
- Curiosity about emerging technologies (AI, infrastructure, developer tools).
- Strong problem-solving mindset; ability to turn vague requirements into working solutions.
- Experience with SQL (Postgres) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, DocumentDB) databases.
- Ability to evaluate trade-offs between data models and query patterns.
- Exposure to search platforms (OpenSearch, Elasticsearch) or ETL pipelines.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools (Git, Docker, Jira; Terraform is a plus).
- Understanding of event-driven systems, asynchronous processing, and distributed architectures.
- Familiarity with AWS services or equivalent cloud platforms.
- Deliver full-stack features across a modern TypeScript ecosystem (React + Module Federation frontend, NodeJS serverless backend) serving millions of users making critical financial decisions.
- Design and implement scalable serverless solutions leveraging AWS Lambda, ECS, and event-driven architectures to handle unpredictable traffic spikes without performance degradation.
- Influence cross-team architecture and standards across 40+ squads, balancing autonomy with platform consistency and managing complex dependencies.
- Own the full development lifecycle—from ideation and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring in production.
- Solve ambiguous and complex problems, including unclear requirements, evolving business needs, and production incidents—going beyond ticket-based work to define what needs to be built.
- Collaborate extensively with product managers, designers, data engineers, and other developers to align on technical and business solutions.
- Ensure high-quality code and maintainability through best practices in testing, code reviews, and continuous integration/deployment.
- Contribute to architectural decisions that optimize for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency in a cloud-native environment.
- Champion performance and security standards, ensuring robust solutions for sensitive financial data.
- Stay proactive in knowledge sharing, mentoring peers, and contributing to documentation and internal tooling improvements.
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities, new technologies, and evolving business requirements in a fast-paced environment.
