Overview
This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a recent graduate with a strong academic background and a genuine interest in financial markets. You will join a fast-paced trading environment and gain exposure to a wide range of financial products and global markets.
Working closely with traders and internal teams, you will develop a deep understanding of settlement processes, market structure and operational risk. Full training and mentoring will be provided.
What You’ll Be Involved In
Trading Support & Settlements
• Support the matching and settlement of OTC, client and exchange trades across equities, bonds and ETFs.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing while building awareness of regulatory and economic impact.
• Assist with position monitoring, including analysis of long/short balances and identifying settlement risks.
Collaboration & Communication
• Work alongside trading desks, technology teams and operational specialists to ensure smooth settlement processes.
• Build strong relationships with brokers and external counterparts.
• Communicate proactively when investigating discrepancies or urgent trades.
Analysis & Reporting
• Assist in producing monthly reports on trading volume, settlement performance, interest claims and costs.
• Support research into new markets, products or process changes.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
• Contribute ideas to improve efficiency, automation and controls.
• Participate in project work directly linked to trading activities.
What We’re Looking For
• Strong academic record — ideally a degree in finance, business, economics, maths, engineering, computer science or a related discipline.
• Genuine interest in financial markets and how trading works.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisation and numeracy.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Analytical mindset and willingness to problem solve.
• Curious, proactive and eager to learn — not afraid to ask questions.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and managing multiple priorities.
• Good Excel skills; exposure to SQL/Python is a plus, but not required.
What You’ll Gain
• Training and support from experienced traders and operations specialists.
• Exposure to a true trading environment and a wide range of financial products.
• Opportunity to learn how global markets operate and how settlement impacts trading strategies.
• A platform to develop your career in trading operations, settlements or broader financial markets.
