Deimos, a Company within Indra Group, is seeking a highly skilled Avionics Validation to join Functional Avionics team in Bucharest.
The selected candidate will support the development and design of advanced avionics functional validation infrastructures, mainly for the end-to-end validation of Earth Observation missions. This role will focus on the definition and implementation of the validation infrastructure architecture from validation specifications, with a particular emphasis on the Attitude Determination and Control Subsystem (ADCS) and AOCS for space vehicles. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience (at least 10 years) in avionics systems validation, satellite technologies, electrical interfaces and real-time systems, and will play a critical role as functional validation infrastructure technical lead.
The Avionics Validation group is integrated into the Avionics Unit, which is mainly oriented to design avionics architectures especially focused on AOCS subsystems, Functional verification including project phases C/D, FDIR definition for AOCS Subsystem, interfaces definition to support GNC and Flight Software architects. As a matter of reference, DEIMOS’ activities cover:
- Satellite formation flying, rendezvous, in-orbit servicing (IOS) and active debris removal (ADR)
- Entry, descent, and landing on planets (Earth, Mars) & natural satellites
- Launch vehicles
- Earth observation, up-stream (flight segment) and downstream
- Interplanetary exploration and navigation
- Unmanned autonomous vehicles (UAVs, UGVs)
- System and mission design
Requirements:
- Familiar with V&V campaigns with Earth Observation satellites and/or launchers.
- Practical experience in aeronautical/aerospace sector especially on Functional Avionics Validation (experience in ESA/European programmes is welcome)
- Capacity to understand new concepts and apply them to engineering problems.
- Familiar with MIL/SIL/PIL/HIL test campaign
- Familiar with PUS (and ideally other standards) concept and to work under ECSS schemes.
- Familiar with main FDIR concepts.
- Familiar with EGSE and test environments in C/D satellite project phases.
- Good programming skills
- C/C++, Matlab/Simulink and Python programming skills
- Strong background in Real-Time systems and embedded code
- Integration of C/C++ code in Simulink Real Time
- Speedgoat platform applications
- Strong background in digital interfaces: UDP/TCP, UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, CANbus/CANopen, LVDS, I2C, SPI, MIL1553 & SpaceWire.
- Electronics design, PCB layout
- Equipment integration, harness design and manufacturing
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges and deliver innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and with external stakeholders
