Role Purpose
To design, operate, and optimize the organization’s multi-cloud infrastructure with AWS as the primary platform and Azure as secondary, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-optimized services. The role drives Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption, cloud architecture, containerization, DevOps automation, FinOps practices, and disaster recovery, while maintaining limited on premises infrastructure. It also requires strong operational experience in Microsoft environments, infrastructure BAU, and SecOps disciplines to ensure system reliability, availability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure Design & Management
- Act as a multi-cloud architect with primary focus on AWS and secondary focus on Azure.
- Design, implement, and optimize cloud infrastructure for resilience, security, and
- Manage AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, Route 53, and
- Manage Azure services including VMs, Storage, Networking, Azure AD, and Synapse.
- Implement and validate disaster recovery (DR) strategies in AWS and Azure.
- Drive FinOps practices including cost governance, workload rightsizing, and resource optimization.
- Administer and support Microsoft environments including Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory, and Windows Server OS.
- Manage domain services, identity synchronization, and group policies.
- Ensure integration and secure identity management across hybrid environments.
- Oversee daily infrastructure BAU operations, ensuring backups, monitoring, patching, availability, and capacity management.
- Lead 24/7 NOC operations for proactive monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis.
- Maintain and secure limited on-prem infrastructure including firewalls, switching, and IP telephony.
- Monitor performance, availability, and reliability across all systems, ensuring SLA compliance.
- Manage SecOps activities such as endpoint and server patching, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 27001, NIST, and SCA standards.
- Collaborate with Security and Operations teams to ensure governance, visibility, and protection across the hybrid environment.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (preferred), AWS Code Pipeline, and GitHub Actions.
- Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Bicep, and Ansible.
- Automate provisioning, monitoring, and configuration for scalability and consistency.
- Deploy and manage container platforms such as Amazon EKS and Azure AKS.
- Promote automation-first culture to streamline deployments and reduce human error.
- Maintain hands-on knowledge across both Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Support system upgrades, configuration management, and patch deployment.
- Integrate monitoring tools for performance visibility and proactive issue detection.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years in AWS cloud and 3+ years in Azure.
- Proven expertise as Cloud Infrastructure Engineer / Architect in AWS-first, multi-cloud environments.
- Strong operational experience with Microsoft infrastructure and productivity platforms, including M365, Exchange, Active Directory, Windows Server, and domain management.
- Experience managing infra BAU operations (backups, monitoring, patching, capacity, and availability).
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional (required)
- AWS SysOps Administrator or DevOps Engineer certification (preferred)
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred)
- Microsoft Enterprise Administrator Expert
- ITIL Certification
- AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Route 53, CloudWatch, CloudFormation)
- Azure services (VMs, Azure AD, Synapse, Key Vault)
- Kubernetes orchestration (EKS primary, AKS secondary)
- DevOps toolchains & IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Bicep, Ansible)
- FinOps frameworks & multi-cloud cost optimization
- Familiarity with ITIL, ISO 27001, NIST, and SCAcompliance requirements.
- Expertise in AWS & Azure cloud architecture.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft 365, Exchange, domain services, and Windows OS administration.
- Solid knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and toolsets (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Bicep, Ansible).
- Strong understanding of infrastructure BAU (backups, monitoring, capacity planning, patching, and availability).
- Experience in SecOps operations including vulnerability management, endpoint hardening, and patch management.
- Good working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Proficiency in Kubernetes (EKS, AKS) and DevOps automation pipelines.
- Deep understanding of networking, firewalls, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Effective collaboration and stakeholder management across technical and business teams.
