NU Advisory Partners has been retained to lead the search for a Chief Information Officer for a large, multi-location organization investing in a full-scale modernization of its technology, data, and digital capabilities. This executive will shape enterprise-wide technology strategy, elevate data and analytics maturity, modernize legacy systems, and build a secure, scalable, high-performance technology foundation that supports long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities


Enterprise Technology Strategy


  • Define and execute a multi-year technology vision that aligns with business priorities and accelerates value creation.
  • Establish architectural standards, modernization priorities, and a roadmap that supports scale, reliability, and innovation.
  • Integrate disparate systems into a unified, intuitive technology ecosystem that enhances internal and customer-facing experiences.


Digital & Data Modernization


  • Build a modern data environment that enables real-time insight, automation, and predictive intelligence.
  • Introduce cloud, automation, and AI capabilities that streamline processes, improve decision-making, and strengthen performance.
  • Partner with business leaders to develop meaningful KPIs, dashboards, and self-service analytics.


Infrastructure, Security & Operations


  • Modernize infrastructure, networks, and workplace technologies to support a distributed workforce.
  • Strengthen the company’s cybersecurity program with upgraded tooling, governance, and incident readiness.
  • Implement identity, access, compliance, and continuity standards that ensure enterprise-wide security and reliability.
  • Oversee technology operations to ensure availability, uptime, and responsive support.


Technology Delivery & Integration


  • Lead modernization of core systems, including key enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and customer-facing tools for a service-based business.
  • Guide integration efforts for new technologies and future acquisitions, ensuring seamless adoption and long-term scalability.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee external technology partners for cost-effective, high-quality delivery.


Leadership & Organizational Development


  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing technology organization with strong leadership capability, starting from a team of 10-15.
  • Strengthen IT governance, delivery processes, and program management disciplines.
  • Cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the technology function.


Executive Partnership & Communication


  • Partner with senior leadership to translate business needs into actionable technology priorities.
  • Present technology strategy, progress, and investment recommendations to executives and investors.
  • Provide transparency into performance, timelines, risks, and impact on the broader organization.


Qualifications & Experience


  • Proven success leading enterprise-wide digital and technology transformation efforts for services-based businesses $500M+.
  • Experience integrating modern cloud platforms, data environments, automation technologies, and AI/ML capabilities.
  • Track record of designing scalable architectures, modernizing legacy systems, and driving system consolidation.
  • Background building high-performing IT teams and managing external vendors and delivery partners.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience building ROI-driven business cases for technology investments.
  • Experience operating in high-change, growth-oriented environments, including private equity-backed or founder-led settings.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Location in Dallas Strongly preferred.
