Job Details & Purpose

The ISO Implementation Officer is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing ISO management systems across the organization, ensuring compliance with relevant ISO standards (such as ISO 27001). The officer works closely with all departments to establish policies, procedures, documentation, and continuous improvement practices required for certification and ongoing compliance.


Key Relationships

  • Develop, review, and maintain policies, procedures, SOPs, manuals, and forms.
  • Ensure all documents meet ISO standard requirements and follow document-control protocols.
  • Maintain version control and ensure timely updates of all ISMS documentation.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on action plans and improvement items


Duties and Responsibilities:


       ISO System Implementation

-         Develop and execute ISO implementation plans and project timelines.

-         Conduct Gap Analysis for relevant ISO standards and recommend corrective actions.

-         Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement required system processes and controls.

 Training & Awareness

-         Conduct internal awareness sessions and ISO-related training programs.

-         Support staff in understanding process requirements, risk management practices, and compliance expectations.

-         Develop internal auditor competencies where required.

    Internal Auditing & Compliance

-         Plan, conduct, and document internal audits in line with ISO guidelines.

-         Identify nonconformities, perform root cause analysis, and track corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

-         Ensure proper maintenance of records, evidence, and audit documentation.

-         Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements associated with ISO standards.

      Reporting & Continuous Improvement

-         Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on ISO progress and compliance status.

-         Follow up on improvement actions, audit findings, and corrective measures.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help develop best practices across departments.


Knowledge and Skills:

-         Proven leadership skills with experience guiding and developing administrative or cross-functional teams.

-         Strong organizational and project management capabilities.

-         Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

-         Ability to make effective decisions and work under pressure.

- Knowledgeable in ISO standards (e.g., ISO 27001) and cross-department collaboration.


Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes:

-         Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, or related field. Certifications in CISSP, CISA, or CISM (for ISO 27001/ISMS roles) is an advantage.

-         Experience: 3–5 years of experience in ISO implementation and compliance activities. Experience in documentation, process development, internal auditing, and risk management.

-         Certifications (Preferred): ISO Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification. Additional certifications.

- Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented, organized, dependable; strong documentation and reporting skills; professional integrity; positive, team-oriented attitude.
