In this role, you’ll work hands-on across diverse technology stacks, services, and domains ranging from distributed systems and microservices to data pipelines, observability, and platform automation.
Your impact
As a Backend Engineer, You Will
- Design and deliver both functional and non-functional backend features.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, promoting best practices.
- Drive sophisticated product integrations and AI-native solutions across Cisco’s portfolio.
- Collaborate with frontend and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless end-to-end delivery.
- Build and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend services that support global enterprise users.
- 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience.
- Strong experience with AWS and monitoring/observability tools (ELK, Splunk, Datadog).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
- A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies.
- Experience with Go, Java, Node.js, or Rust.
- Knowledge of AI tools, frameworks, or methodologies.
- Passion for building scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend systems.
- Experience mentoring or coaching other developers
