Kotlin Developer

Job Summary
We’re looking for a Java Developer who also has strong hands-on experience with Kotlin. The role involves building backend services, writing clean and scalable code and contributing to architecture decisions across microservices and APIs.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop backend services using Java and Kotlin.
• Build RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
• Write clean, testable and maintainable code following best practices.
• Work with microservices architecture, messaging systems and distributed design patterns.
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Collaborate with DevOps and QA teams to ensure smooth deployments and stable releases.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions and sprint activities.
• Maintain documentation for services, APIs and technical workflows.

Required Skills
• Strong hands-on experience in Java (Java 8 or above).
• Practical working experience with Kotlin in production environments.
• Solid understanding of Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data and related frameworks.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, authentication and security basics.
• Good understanding of microservices, event driven design and messaging tools like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL or Oracle.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD workflows and containerization using Docker.
• Strong debugging and problem solving skills.

Good to Have
• Experience with reactive programming (Reactor, Coroutines).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud environments or serverless setups.
• Experience with testing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito or Kotest.
• Exposure to performance tuning.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
