We are looking for a Scientist III who combines deep molecular biology knowledge with advanced data science skills. This role focuses on demonstrating computational methods, statistical modeling, and machine learning to optimize qPCR assay design, data and accelerate innovation in life sciences.
Key Responsibilities
- Data-Driven Assay Development: Apply statistical and machine learning models to improve qPCR assay design, performance prediction, and troubleshooting.
- Big Data Analysis: Integrate and analyze large datasets from NGS sequencing, qPCR experiments, and customer usage metrics.
- Algorithm Development: Build predictive models for primer/probe performance and assay specificity using Python, R, or similar languages.
- Automation & Pipelines: Develop automated workflows for data processing, visualization, and reporting using cloud-based tools.
- Bioinformatics Integration: Use computational tools for sequence alignment, variant analysis, and primer/probe design.
- Teamwork: Partner with R&D, software engineering, and product teams to embed data science into assay development processes.
- Documentation: Maintain reproducible code repositories and prepare technical reports for internal and external collaborators.
Education
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Data Science, Computational Biology, or related field.
- 3+ years in bioinformatic data and statistical analysis.
- Prove experience with large data sets and translating results into useable information for project teams or actionable work (i.e. next steps in product development).
- Experience with bioinformatics tools (Primer3, BLAST) and cloud computing environments.
- Proficiency in Python, R, JMP, and/or statistical modeling.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or similar).
- Preferred: Knowledge of containerization (Docker), version control (Git), and data visualization libraries.
- Good knowledge of English (written and oral) (level B2 - C1).

The monthly salary range estimated for this position based in Lithuania is €2 891,67–€4 335,42.
