About the Role

As a Security Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building and enhancing core data protection capabilities to ensure compliance with critical regulations like BDDK, KVKK, and PCI-DSS. You will design and implement architectures for Data Leak Prevention (DLP) and Database Activity Monitoring (DAM), while establishing advanced controls for AI/LLM security. Your expertise in data classification and discovery will be key to defining standards, mitigating risks, and acting as the flag-bearer for data security across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Our Data Security team is building and enhancing Trendyol’s core data protection capabilities. This role gives you the opportunity to define scope, set priorities and build the foundations that protect sensitive data across the platform. You will play a key role in designing, implementing and managing data security processes from scratch, including:
• Data Classification & Tagging
• Data Discovery & Mapping
• Data Leak Prevention (DLP)
• Database Activity Monitoring (DAM)
• Data Protection Controls (with a focus on AI/LLM security)- Always be on the lookout for improvements regarding monitoring and protection of sensitive data.
• Stay updated on industry trends and apply them to improve the organization’s security posture.
• Advise on data security architecture across external and internal projects.
• Manage a wide range of data security products, monitor event trends, create and finetune CASB/DAM/DLP policies and continually strengthen detection and protection.
• Support legal confidentiality requirements, perform on-demand data discovery, define sensitive data levels and apply restrictions or quarantine actions where necessary.
• Work closely with business units to shape standards and maintain effective operational processes.
• Develop security policies, procedures and guidelines to support ongoing risk and compliance management.
• Assess data security risks, participate in audits, prepare action plans and track their completion.
• Ensure compliance with BDDK, TCMB, KVKK, GDPR, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001 and other applicable regulations.
• Support security awareness efforts and use your expertise in information security to improve data protection.

Expected Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of information security practices and hands-on experience in key data security areas such as DLP, DAM, sensitive data discovery and data classification/tagging.
• A self-starter who takes ownership, drives initiatives forward, and acts as a flag-bearer for data security within the organization.
• Strong problem-solving and consultative mindset, able to balance technical depth with strategic perspective.
• Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across both technical and non-technical teams.
• Demonstrated ability to design security solutions that address business needs in regulated environments.
• Preferably, proven experience in the banking/financial sector; familiar with BDDK requirements, regulatory processes, audit standards, and security frameworks.
• Experienced in working within an information security team; knowledgeable about security practices and industry standards, and capable of integrating security principles into business processes.
• Familiarity with various compliance and security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS, GDPR, KVKK).
