We're looking for a highly detail-oriented QA Tester to become the connective tissue between support, product, and development.
Your core responsibility is to take support tickets that first-line support can't resolve, reproduce the issue clearly, and translate it into a high-quality GitHub issue with:
- Clear reproduction steps
- Expected vs. actual behaviour
- Environment notes
- Screenshots / screen recordings where helpful
- Acceptance criteria for a fix
This is a pivotal role focused on reliability, clarity, and raising the "quality bar" across the Zap suite of plugins.
What You'll Do
Support Triage & Issue Reproduction
- Take escalated support tickets that 1st-line support can't solve
- Reproduce issues reliably in staging or local environments
- Identify whether the issue is a bug, misconfiguration, expected behaviour, or user error
- Document findings clearly and concisely
- Add precise, step-by-step reproduction instructions
- Note environment conditions (browser, device, WP version, PHP version, plugin stack)
- Include screenshots, logs, or short clips where relevant
- Write clear acceptance criteria for developers
- Categorise and label issues appropriately
- Test developer PRs against the acceptance criteria
- Explore edge cases and regressions
- Sign off fixes once verified
- Coordinate fixes with Backend and Frontend teams
- Help maintain a consistent standard of testing across the product
- Suggest improvements to our QA processes
- Help refine test plans and scenarios
- Provide input on automated tests
What You Should Bring
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
- Experience testing web applications
- Ability to reproduce complex issues consistently
- Excellent written communication for writing fault reports and PR notes
- Understanding of WordPress and WooCommerce environments
- Comfortable working across both Backend and Frontend behaviours
- Interest in automated testing (even if not fully experienced yet)
- Familiarity with GitHub workflows (labels, milestones, PR reviews)
- Hands-on QA experience in WordPress/WooCommerce
- Exposure to Laravel and modern PHP testing frameworks
- Experience with browser dev tools, network tab, console debugging
- Ability to spot UX/UI issues as well as functional issues
- Familiarity with automated QA tooling
You'll collaborate closely with:
- First-line support — receiving escalated tickets
- Backend team — debugging PHP, WordPress, WooCommerce, Laravel
- Frontend team — verifying HTML/JS/CSS fixes
- Product owners — refining acceptance criteria
- Design/UI — confirming front-end consistency where relevant
You will be the last line of defence against regressions, confusing UX, and production-breaking bugs.
Your work ensures our customers experience a fast, reliable, and polished product — every day.
