As a Back-end Developer, you are the link between complex government processes and our innovative low-code software solution Nimbl Case Management.
You play a crucial role in the implementation of our case system for independent government agencies in the Netherlands and Belgium. Together with your colleagues, you ensure a seamless integration of our solution with the customer's processes. You support existing projects and actively contribute to the further development of our platform, closely collaborating with the customer and our internal teams. Your technical expertise and solution-oriented approach make a difference in the digital transformation of governments.
What does your day look like?
As a Back-end developer, you perform the following tasks:
- You develop and improve the back-end of the Nimbl application in customer projects.
- You conduct code reviews and actively participate in improving the codebase with your colleagues.
- You regularly coordinate with technical and functional leads, both internally and with the customer.
- You assess the technical feasibility of functional designs and translate them into solid solutions.
- You coordinate with internal and external teams for a smooth project implementation.

What are we looking for?
Your technical skills
- You have solid experience with various programming languages and databases.
- You can work on projects methodically, document projects clearly, and thoroughly test code.
- You have at least 2 years of experience in Java development and demonstrable achievements in several projects.
- Knowledge of security guidelines and secure development is required.
- You have experience in backend development and knowledge of multiple technologies: Hibernate (JPA), ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, PrimeFaces, Spring (MVC and/or boot), REST/SOAP Services, JAXB, JAX-WS or JAX-RS.
- You have experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of tooling usage: Git, Docker, IntelliJ, Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of front-end development is a plus: Javascript (ES6), web markup (including HTML 5, CSS3), and one or more frameworks such as Angular, jQuery, Vue, Kendo UI.
- You work accurately and precisely.
- You have strong problem-solving and investigative skills.
- You are a team player and know when to seek advice or help.
- You work with a focus on results.
- You have a healthy dose of entrepreneurship: you are customer-oriented and have a well-developed sense of responsibility.
- You have a good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
- A good command of the English and French language is a plus.
- Professional Bachelor in Applied Informatics, Application Development, or Software Management, or Master in Computer Science.
