About The Job
Based in Braine l’Alleud, you will join the NATO Integrated Mission Services Centre (NIMSC). NIMSC provides NATO and its partners with scalable, protected and highly available operational services for NATO missions, operations, exercises and business continuity.
- This is a temporary location pending completion of the new SHAPE facility at Camp Casteau in Mons. The Braine L’Alleud site is expected to close by end 2027, with future duty stations shifting to Brussels or Mons, depending on function and business needs.
What You Will Be Doing
You will contribute to a wide range of CIS security activities, including:
- Conducting vulnerability assessments, security risk assessments and business impact analyses
- Monitoring security operations, reviewing incidents, escalating issues and supporting investigations when required
- Planning and coordinating security architecture development with the NATO Cyber Security Centre for large scale systems and networks
- Assessing change, access and configuration requests from a CIS Security perspective to ensure compliance with NATO policies and standards
- Producing and updating accreditation documentation, supporting security accreditation processes and liaising with accreditation authorities
- Tracking CIS threats, advising on mitigation measures, and contributing to policy and security framework development
- Supporting the enrolment of NIMSC systems into monitoring and incident response programmes, and maintaining the CIS Security Risk and Issue Register
- Providing CIS security advice, training and awareness sessions to technical staff, project managers and service delivery teams
About You
Essential education and experience
- A Bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution in a related field, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience; or, exceptionally, at least 6 years of extensive and progressive experience in duties related to the post in lieu of a degree
- Comprehensive knowledge of computer and communications security principles, networking and operating system vulnerabilities
- Experience implementing CIS security measures in enterprise environments
- Experience in governance, risk and compliance (GRC), including leading audits, risk assessments and regulatory reporting
- Experience developing or maintaining security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS) and enforcing organisation-wide policies and awareness programmes
- Experience with incident handling, security investigations or initial response activities
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Knowledge of cryptographic and emission security concepts
- Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, PKI and key management
- Experience in SATCOM-related security or mobile data communications
- Knowledge of NATO Security Policy and security accreditation processes in a NATO or multinational environment
- Certifications such as CISSP, ITIL Foundation or PRINCE2 Foundation
