Job Description

About the role

We are the Development team at AFS Energy (10 people total, 7 developers and PO/QA/BA). We are looking for a smart junior developer to work on our renewable energy trading platform and administration tool. The work involves complex business logic and financial markets.

Job requirements

  • Foundational understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
  • Experience with PHP
  • Talent for programming and eagerness to learn and make an impact.
  • Eager to learn frameworks like Symfony.
  • Proficiency in English (written & verbal).
  • Aptitude for understanding business logic.
  • Nice to have: Experience with Java, Kotlin or Node.js.
  • Residence in the Netherlands and entitled to work in the Netherlands

We work on two repositories (one is 3 years old, the other 8 years old). Both use PHP 8.3. We will also start a new project in 2027, your time as a developer will be split between these three projects.
