We are looking for a Senior Android Automotive Engineer to join a large-scale automotive program focused on Google Automotive Services (GAS), AI-based in-car assistant (Gemini) and AR navigation using camera vision.
The role involves building and integrating next-generation infotainment and intelligent driving solutions for OEM platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and customize applications and system components on Android Automotive OS (AAOS)
- Integrate Google Automotive Services (GAS): Maps, Assistant, Play Store
- Contribute to AI-based in-car assistant features (Gemini / LLM integration, voice interfaces)
- Collaborate on AR navigation and real-time computer vision pipelines using in-vehicle cameras
- Integrate automotive hardware via Vehicle HAL, CAN, sensors and camera systems
- Work closely with OEM, UX, AI and embedded teams
- Ensure performance, reliability, safety and security standards for automotive environments
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong expertise in Android Automotive OS (AAOS) (not only Android mobile)
- Solid experience with Google Automotive Services (GAS) integration
- Proficiency in Kotlin / Java, plus C++ for lower-level automotive components
- Experience with vehicle systems integration (Vehicle HAL, CAN, sensors, cameras)
- Experience integrating AI/LLM services (Gemini or similar)
- Good understanding of automotive software lifecycle, OTA updates and certification flows
- Experience with Computer Vision / AR navigation (OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Knowledge of ISO 26262, ASPICE, automotive cybersecurity
- Prior work with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers (Bosch, Continental, Harman, Valeo, etc.)
- Experience with real-time graphics and GPU acceleration
- Senior / Principal Engineer level
- Proven background in automotive infotainment or embedded Android systems
- Comfortable working on complex, safety-critical, enterprise automotive projects
- Engagement: B2B Contract, long term
- Location: Remote from Romania
- Project: Long-term, high-impact OEM automotive program
