About The Role

We are looking for an experienced VOIP & Network Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. In this senior-level role, you will design, build, and optimize carrier-grade VoIP and network systems that support ZIWO’s global communication platform. You’ll work across voice technologies, containers, networking, cloud infrastructure, and automation to improve reliability, performance, and scalability.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design, build, and deploy carrier-grade VoIP infrastructure.
  • Deploy and manage VoIP, SIP, PBX, and unified communications platforms.
  • Optimize call routing, QoS, and voice security protocols.
  • Deploy VoIP/Network solutions in Docker / Kubernetes hosting environments.
  • Implement and maintain voice quality monitoring systems (e.g., Homer).
  • Integrate voice systems with networks and third-party applications.
  • Ensure high SLA performance across the VoIP stack.
  • Automate workflows to eliminate manual or error-prone processes.
  • Implement SIP trunking, call routing protocols, and SBCs to optimize voice traffic.
  • Plan and execute migrations from legacy systems (analog/PRI) to modern IP-based solutions.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot voice quality issues (latency, jitter, packet loss) using tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or platform diagnostics.
  • Ensure QoS prioritization for voice traffic across networks.
  • Perform updates, patches, and upgrades to maintain system security and performance.
  • Troubleshoot complex voice-related issues (call drops, one-way audio, registration failures).
  • Design and maintain failover systems, redundant SIP trunks, and backup call routing plans.
  • Configure LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and SD-WAN solutions.
  • Implement VLANs, VPNs, and load balancing for redundancy and scalability.
  • Monitor network performance and resolve downtime, congestion, or latency issues.
  • Maintain services post-launch by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and system health.
  • Leverage public cloud tooling (AWS/OCI) to improve time-to-market.
  • Manage on-call rotations for urgent incidents outside working hours when needed.

What You Bring

  • 5–10 years of experience in VoIP engineering, network engineering, or similar roles.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent field.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining full VoIP stacks.

Strong Knowledge Of

  • Linux (Ubuntu)
  • Ansible
  • Terraform
  • PostgreSQL
  • AWS / OCI
  • Git & Git Flows
  • Monitoring (InfluxDB / Prometheus / Elasticsearch)
  • Expertise in FreeSwitch / Asterisk / Kamailio.
  • Programming skills in Python or Go.
  • Deep understanding of LAN/WAN, routing, switching, firewalls, and SD-WAN.
  • Experience implementing VLANs, VPNs, load balancing, and redundancy solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for voice, SIP, and network-related incidents.
  • Proficient in English communication.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multicultural, remote-friendly environment.

Bonus Skills

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS.
  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Networking via Terraform or Ansible.
