Core Responsibilities (Agile BA Activities)
- Product Backlog Management: Create, refine, and document user stories with clear acceptance criteria, business rules, dependencies, assumptions, and constraints.
- Requirements Elicitation & Documentation: Prepare business and system requirements, business context diagrams, and process maps. Maintain reusable documentation in Confluence.
- Collaboration & Facilitation: Lead refinement sessions with cross-functional squads. Partner with Product Owners to decompose epics into actionable user stories.
- Test Scenario Support: Document test scenarios where needed to support QA and end-to-end validation.
- Current State Analysis: Understand and assess business workflows, operational impacts, and technical considerations.
- Sprint Administration: Maintain sprint artifacts, user stories, and status updates in JIRA.
- Risk & Dependency Management: Support Product Owners in identifying and managing risks, assumptions, and constraints.
- Mentorship: Build capability within the BA team by providing coaching and knowledge-sharing.
Project Overview
This role supports an Agile initiative focused on digitizing the customer mortgage application journey, enhancing end-to-end user experience through modernized digital solutions.
Required Tools & Technology
You will work extensively with:
- JIRA
- Confluence
- SharePoint
- Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must-Have Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst.
- 3+ years working on Agile projects.
- Proven expertise in independently gathering and documenting business and systems requirements.
- Experience in Online Banking or Mobile Banking environments.
- Strong knowledge of requirements methodology across both Agile and Waterfall.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience performing gap analysis.
- Demonstrated experience writing user stories, specifications, business context diagrams, and process maps.
- Experience contributing to large-scale projects (over $2M in budget).
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, including leading large stakeholder sessions (15–20+ participants).
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Highly adaptable and collaborative mindset.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience working with GenAI.
- Digital Mortgage experience.
- Experience writing BDD feature files.
- Understanding of Accessibility requirements.
- Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or a Master’s Certificate in Business Analysis.
