IT Project Manager

Sydney CBD and hybrid | Full Time

Remuneration: $110k base + superannuation

Matrix Education is Australia’s best tuition college for students in Year 3 to 12. Our Technology team is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead technology initiatives across our growing education organisation. This role suits someone who thrives in an SMB environment – coordinating across business units, adept at managing diverse responsibilities and working hands-on with systems. You will plan, execute, and optimise projects that enhance operational efficiency, student experience and digital learning delivery.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience with Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, and education technologies including LMS, SIS platforms, and assessment tools, with the ability to translate academic and operational needs into scalable solutions.

What you’ll do…

• Deliver end-to-end IT and digital transformation projects, from scoping to planning, execution, testing, deployment, and optimisation.
• Manage project plans, timelines, risks, and governance with clear documentation.
• Oversee configuration and enhancement of Salesforce (Service Cloud, Sales Cloud) and Marketing Cloud, ensuring seamless integration with LMS, SIS, BI tools, and payment systems.
• Drive system improvements, automation, and data integrity across platforms.
• Lead change management activities, ensuring staff readiness, adoption, and smooth transition to new systems and processes.
• Develop communication plans, training materials, and end-user support resources.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Student Services, Academic, and Finance teams to define and deliver technology requirements.
• Build and refine project governance and delivery frameworks.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and propose scalable technology solutions.
• Promote data quality, process consistency, and best practice across all systems.

What you’ll need…

• 5+ years’ of hands on experience in IT operations projects.
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce (Service Cloud, Sales Cloud) and Marketing Cloud.
• Experience delivering projects involving LMS platforms, education technology, or student lifecycle systems.
• Proven ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Agile, hybrid, or iterative delivery approaches.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice to have (but not essential)…

• Relevant certifications in Salesforce and/or Agile.
• Industry experience in education, training organisations, or customer lifecycle-led environments.
• Experience with BI/analytics tools (Power BI).
• Experience with structured change management frameworks.
