For a valued client of Tergos, we are currently looking for an Interim Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes. Our client is operating a rapidly evolving Azure and Kubernetes landscape that requires robust operational support and continuous improvement. As Interim Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the stability, scalability, and security of the platform.
You will work closely with engineering teams to refine infrastructure, upgrade Kubernetes clusters, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The environment is technical, fast-paced, and relies on quick responsiveness during incidents.

• Maintain, update, and evolve Helm charts to support ongoing application changes
• Perform AKS upgrades and manage the full Kubernetes lifecycle
• Enhance and optimize CI pipelines
• Extend and improve Terraform-based infrastructure
• Implement and refine monitoring across critical services
• Respond to platform alerts; perform first-line troubleshooting and deeper investigation
• Ensure high responsiveness in incident and operational scenarios
  
  

• Strong professional experience with Terraform
• Hands-on experience with GitLab CI or GitHub Actions
• Solid Linux fundamentals
• Proficiency in Bash scripting
• Strong communication skills and ability to produce clear technical documentation
  
  

• Practical experience with Azure components (VNETs, managed identities, Key Vault, load balancers, firewall rules, private endpoints)
• Strong operational Kubernetes experience
• Proven experience with AKS upgrades and cluster lifecycle management
• Understanding of Azure storage classes, CSI drivers, Azure Disk/File
  
  

• Experience with cert-manager (issuers, renewals, certificate workflows)
• Experience with external-dns
• Strong Helm expertise (chart development & maintenance)
• Familiarity with ArgoCD and GitOps practices
  
  

• Experience with Workload Identity Federation (Azure AD ? AKS)
• Understanding of PKI fundamentals
• Security-focused mindset
  
  

• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines for Java applications
• Knowledge of Maven
• Understanding of OCI images and container runtimes (e.g., containerd)
  
  

• Strong diagnostic abilities across logs, metrics, and traces
• Experience with Application Insights, Prometheus/Grafana, or similar
• Strong systems-thinking approach to troubleshooting
  
  

• Autonomous, proactive problem solver
• Capable of owning tasks end-to-end
• Able to work effectively within existing architectural guidelines
• Reliable, fast, and highly responsive in operational situations
