Role Overview:

We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join to join a leading energy company in Portugal where innovation, sustainability, and excellence are the pillars of their success.

What you will do:

• Develop and integrate GenAI models (LLMs, diffusion models) into production-grade applications for tasks like text generation, summarization, contextual classification, and image creation.
• Build robust ML pipelines including data preprocessing, fine-tuning of foundation models (e.g., LLaMA, Mistral, T5), and controlled deployment via APIs.
• Evaluate model performance using domain-specific metrics (e.g., BLEU, ROUGE, perplexity) and iterate for continuous improvement.
• Design and implement high-complexity analytical models, including combinatorial optimization and deep learning over structured and unstructured data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable and secure integration of ML solutions.

What you are like:

• Strong proficiency in Python and/or R, with experience in implementing ML solutions from scratch.
• Hands-on experience with TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, or similar deep learning libraries.
• Proven experience with LLMs and transformer-based architectures, including fine-tuning and deployment.
• Solid understanding of ML engineering best practices, including versioning, reproducibility, and monitoring.
• Knowledge of GenAI safety, prompt engineering, and model interpretability is valued.
• Contributions to open-source projects or published research in GenAI or NLP is valued.
