Our mission is to transform complex data into actionable intelligence, enabling smarter decisions, automation, and measurable commercial impact across markets.
We are expanding our capability in Slovenia and looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our growing, cross-functional team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of advanced analytics, machine learning, cloud platforms, and real-world retail intelligence, all within a strategic European hub driving innovation for the region and beyond.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning, predictive, and GenAI models delivering measurable business value across retail and FMCG use cases.
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover insights, trends, and patterns that inform strategy, operations, and commercial decisions.
- Build, optimise, and productionize end-to-end ML pipelines in collaboration with Data Engineering and MLOps teams.
- Work with large-scale datasets using distributed processing frameworks such as Spark and PySpark.
- Develop advanced modelling frameworks for forecasting, classification, optimisation, simulation, and recommendation systems.
- Deploy models on cloud platforms such as Databricks, Azure ML, or Vertex AI, ensuring reliability, scalability, and alignment with best practices.
- Integrate models and insights into business workflows using APIs, automation pipelines, and cloud-native services.
- Communicate analytical findings through clear narratives, visualisations, and business-oriented storytelling.
- Partner across commercial, supply chain, operations, finance, and IT to embed analytics into core business processes.
- Apply MLOps principles for monitoring, retraining, CI/CD deployment, and lifecycle governance of ML solutions.
- Evaluate new techniques, tools, and technologies to continuously improve our modelling ecosystem.
About You:
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, ML Engineer, or similar analytical role.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and ML libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow).
- Strong SQL capability and experience working with large, diverse datasets.
- Hands-on expertise with Databricks, Azure ML, or Vertex AI, including distributed processing (Spark/PySpark).
- Solid understanding of machine learning theory, model evaluation, feature engineering, and statistical analysis.
- Experience deploying ML models into production environments and integrating them into operational workflows.
- Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts in clear, actionable business language.
- Strong collaboration skills, with experience working across engineering, product, and business teams.
- A passion for solving real-world problems and delivering measurable business value through AI and ML.
- Experience or interest in the retail or FMCG industry is advantageous.
- Exposure to GenAI, prompt engineering, and automation tooling (N8N, AgentKit, or similar).
- Familiarity with CI/CD, MLOps workflows, and automated ML lifecycle processes.
- Understanding of APIs, microservices, or cloud-based integration patterns.
- Experience with visualisation tools such as Power BI, Pyramid Analytics, or Python-based visualisation libraries.
- Comfortable working across Azure or GCP cloud ecosystems.
