We are looking for a Senior Developer/Tech Lead – Embedded Software (C/C++ / Linux) to join a new development team working on autonomous electric vehicles and automation systems for one of the top industrial technology companies in Europe.
This is a strategic nearshoring project based in Romania, with full ownership over software architecture and development. The role combines hands-on technical contribution with team leadership and architecture responsibility.
The position is remote-friendly, but we will prioritize candidates located near Ploiesti and Bucharest, or surrounding areas, as on-site presence is occasionally required for testing and validation on real hardware (vehicles, sensors, ECUs).
What you will do:
- Define the embedded software architecture (layers, modules, interfaces)
- Lead a team of embedded developers: technical priorities, standards, code reviews
- Write and review C/C++ code for embedded Linux systems
- Collaborate with system engineers to align technical solutions with product requirements
- Ensure scalability, performance and reliability of software systems
- Contribute to Agile planning and support cross-functional teams (test, system, production)
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of experience in embedded software development
- At least 2–3 years in technical leadership or system architect roles
- Strong expertise in C/C++ and Linux embedded environments
- Experience with hardware-related development (device drivers, microcontrollers, ECUs)
- Ability to define and scale embedded architectures for distributed or autonomous systems
- Practical experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD tools, Git
- Advanced English skills (written and spoken) – German is a plus
