Position: Power BI Developer & Business Analyst (Hybrid Role)

Siskon Software & Automation is an expert engineering company that has been providing professional services on process control, industrial automation and custom software development since 1997.


Role Overview:

This is a hybrid role combining Power BI technical development with business analysis responsibilities.

You will build advanced analytics solutions while also translating business needs into clear data requirements and overseeing analytical activities within the team.

The position is open to mid–senior and senior-level profiles — technical competence, analytical mindset, and ownership attitude will matter most.


Responsibilities:


Power BI Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards, data models, and reports with strong UX and actionable insights.
  • Implement data modeling best practices, including DAX, Power Query (M), relationships, measures, and performance optimization.
  • Connect to multiple data sources (SQL, SAP BW, Azure Data Lake, APIs) and ensure data is transformed accurately and efficiently.


Business Analysis & Insight Generation

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to translate business needs into analytical solutions.
  • Gather requirements, understand processes, and produce insights that support informed decision-making.
  • Identify new data opportunities and support data-driven optimization across functions.


Team Collaboration & Oversight:

  • Work as part of the Data & Analytics team and help ensure the team fully leverages data across all projects.
  • Oversee analytical tasks performed by other developers when needed, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Provide training, enablement, and guidance to stakeholders on Power BI usage and self-service analytics.


Governance & Quality:

  • Ensure data governance, data quality, and security within Power BI environments (including RLS and workspace management).
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to promote best practices and ensure scalable, sustainable solutions.


Requirements:


Technical Skills:

  • Strong expertise in Power BI development:
  • Advanced DAX, Power Query (M), modeling, measures
  • Drill-through, dynamic visuals, bookmarks, UX optimization
  • Performance management for large datasets
  • Experience connecting Power BI to SQL, Azure Data Lake, SAP BW, or API-based sources.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven experience in insight generation.


Business & Analytical Skills

  • Ability to gather requirements, understand processes, and convert them into robust analytical models and dashboards.
  • Comfortable presenting insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders using storytelling and clear communication.


Seniority:

  • Open to mid–senior or senior candidates.
  • What matters most is attitude, ownership, technical depth, and problem-solving capabilities.


Other:

  • Fluent in English.
  • Strong collaboration skills and stakeholder communication.


Nice to Have:

  • Experience with big data platforms (Azure Data Lake, Databricks).


Working place:

  • Preferable Bucharest / Brasov. All Romania could be considered – Remote
