ML/AI Engineer - Geospatial Intelligence for Last-Mile Delivery

Location: Rotterdam

Type: Full-time

Company: Narmin

Domain: Last-mile logistics and navigation intelligence

Narmin delivers cutting-edge SaaS solutions for last-mile delivery, empowering industry giants like DHL eCommerce and Kaufland to efficiently manage over 1 billion deliveries.

About the Role

As an ML and AI Engineer, you will be responsible for extracting and learning from our Motion SDK data to detect entrances, parking locations, and route behavior in the field. Your models will power real-time features used by thousands of delivery drivers each day, reducing stress, eliminating guesswork, and creating better experiences for both drivers and customers.

Responsibilities

Signal Analysis and Pattern Recognition

Analyze time-series data from the Motion SDK to extract meaningful patterns related to driver behavior, including stopping, walking trajectories, and navigation adjustments.

Machine Learning Model Development

Design and implement models that identify entrances and parking locations from sensor data, using techniques such as clustering, supervised learning, and spatiotemporal modeling.

Model Training and Evaluation

Leverage labeled and weakly-labeled data to train and validate models. Measure accuracy, confidence, coverage, and robustness of predictions.

Cross-functional Collaboration

Work closely with the Navigation SDK, Address Intelligence Platform, and Product teams to integrate models into real-time workflows and ensure operational reliability.

Deployment and Scaling

Support deployment of models for both server-side and on-device inference. Ensure inference pipelines are efficient, scalable, and maintainable.

Requirements

  • 4 or more years of experience in Machine Learning or Data Science, preferably with a focus on geospatial, mobility, or navigation technologies
  • Proficient in Python and libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Experience with real-world sensor or time-series data, including GPS or IMU
  • Understanding of geospatial techniques such as map-matching, trajectory clustering, or probabilistic modeling
  • Familiarity with spatial data systems such as PostGIS, vector tiles, or OpenStreetMap
  • Bonus: experience building models for mobile or embedded inference environments

Why work at Narmin

  • Work on real-world AI problems with clear product impact and visibility
  • Help shape how modern delivery software understands geography, behavior, and motion
  • Collaborate with a high-trust team focused on impact, product quality, and long-term thinking
  • Access to large-scale real-world datasets in a highly practical domain
  • Be part of a fun, young, and enthusiastic team in our beautiful office located in the trendy Kralingen district of Rotterdam
