About the Role:
We are looking for a talented 3D Artist who specializes in creating stylized, mobile-friendly 3D props and optimizing existing art assets for performance. The ideal candidate understands how to build beautiful cartoon environments that run smoothly on mobile devices.
Character modeling and rigging experience is a strong plus. Sketching or concept-blocking ability is also valuable.
You will collaborate closely with our design and development teams and will be responsible for implementing, testing, and polishing assets directly inside Unity, including basic scene lighting setup.
Key Responsibilities:
3D Prop & Environment Art
· Create high-quality, stylized 3D props, environment pieces, and game objects.
· Maintain consistent art style aligned with FitFit World’s kid-friendly cartoon look.
Asset Optimization
· Optimize existing assets (topology cleanup, polycount reduction, UV improvements).
· Prepare low-poly, mobile-ready assets with efficient UV layouts and texture usage.
· Use atlasing and batching-friendly techniques to reduce draw calls.
Texturing & Materials
· Create stylized textures using Substance Painter, Photoshop, or similar tools.
· Set up and test materials for Unity’s lightweight rendering pipeline.
Character Modeling & Rigging
· Model stylized characters and creatures (optional but highly desired).
· Build clean rigs and create basic animations (idle, celebrate, simple interactions).
Unity Integration
· Import, configure, and validate assets directly inside Unity.
· Ensure materials, scaling, lighting, LODs, and mobile settings are correct.
· Set up simple and optimized lighting for mobile scenes (baked or realtime depending on pipeline).
· Collaborate with developers to guarantee smooth integration.
Team Collaboration
· Work closely with designers and programmers to meet technical and artistic requirements.
· Participate in team reviews, iterate based on feedback, and maintain strong communication.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
· Strong portfolio demonstrating stylized/cartoon 3D work, ideally for mobile games.
· Proficiency in Blender or Maya for modeling, UVs, and asset creation.
· Experience with Substance Painter or equivalent texturing tools.
· Understanding: Low-poly modeling, Polycount budgeting, UV efficiency, Texture atlases, Retopology, LOD systems
· Hands-on experience with Unity, including:
o Asset import workflows
o Materials & shaders
o Prefabs and animation setup
o Mobile-friendly lighting (baked lightmaps, light probes, simple realtime lights)
· Strong artistic understanding of shape language, silhouettes, colors, and kid-friendly visual appeal.
· Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment.
