We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer with a proven background in building high-volume, scalable services.

Job details:

• 6-month initial contract with a high potential for extension.
• Fully remote opportunity within the UK, with any ad-hoc travel expenses covered.
• Day Rate: Up to £350 per day (Inside IR35)
• Essential Requirement: Candidates must hold active SC Clearance.

The Role:

You will be a key player in designing, developing, and maintaining critical backend services. Your expertise in JavaScript and Spring Boot will be essential for creating robust RESTful APIs and event-driven microservices deployed on AWS. We are looking for a developer who is passionate about embedding security, observability, and automation directly into the development lifecycle.

Key Technical Skills:

• Core Development: Proven commercial experience with JavaScript and Spring Boot.
• API & Architecture: Strong skills in RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and event-driven integration using Kafka.
• Platform & Ops: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker for containerisation, alongside a strong understanding of AWS cloud services.
• Data & Security: Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) and a solid grasp of security principles (IDAM/IdP, SSO, RBAC, SSL/TLS).
• Ways of Working: A disciplined approach to CI/CD pipelines and Git best practices, with experience working in agile, multi-disciplinary teams.
