About The Role

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join Twilio's Conversational AI organization. This role is pivotal in enhancing and supporting our AI and Agentic offerings within the Conversational Agents Team. As part of this team, you will work on cutting-edge technologies involving Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models, transforming how companies operate internally and interact with their customers. Your primary focus will be on developing platform primitives that enable customers to seamlessly integrate AI Agents capable of answering questions and executing actions autonomously. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions that are shaping the future of conversational AI and automation, making a tangible difference in the way businesses communicate and operate.

Qualifications

  • 6-10 years of hands-on experience as an engineer writing production-grade code in a modern programming language (language agnostic)
  • Passion for emerging technologies and staying up-to-date with latest developments
  • Proven track record of shipping products to production, testing ideas early with customers, and iterating rapidly based on feedback
  • Exceptional collaboration skills and ability to partner effectively across teams
  • Strong customer focus with a tight feedback loop
  • Experience with building products from concept to market fit (zero to one)
  • Experience with Typescript, Python, or Go is preferred
  • Experience working on products or features leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • Builder at heart, passionate about hands-on work and seeing tangible results

Responsibilities

  • Develop solutions independently and collaboratively, designing software for modularity and flexibility
  • Write maintainable, well-tested code within a professional software engineering environment
  • Define, break down, and prioritize work in partnership with team members and stakeholders
  • Research industry trends, provide analysis, and develop proof of concepts to validate ideas
  • Work with LLM providers and services responsible for Memory and Retrieval Augmented Generation
  • Contribute technical expertise through code reviews and whiteboarding sessions
  • Collaborate with the Tech Lead to establish standard methodologies and best practices for your area of ownership
  • Utilize programming languages such as Typescript and Python to build scalable AI solutions
