Junior Cyber Security Operations Analyst

Hybrid: Northampton 1 day per week

Up to £300 per day | Inside IR35

We are seeking a Junior SecOps Analyst to join a growing security operations team on a 6-month contract. This role is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of experience who wants to build hands-on operational experience in a supportive environment.

You’ll be responsible for handling day-to-day security tickets, performing initial triage, and supporting core SecOps workflows. This role offers strong exposure to security tooling, operational processes, and real-world incident handling, perfect for developing toward a full SOC or SecOps career path.

Key Responsibilities

• Triage and action security-related tickets using Jira
• Review low-severity alerts from security and cloud tools
• Perform basic investigations following established runbooks
• Support daily operational checks and routine security tasks
• Assist with access reviews, onboarding/offboarding, and vulnerability scanning
• Escalate issues to senior analysts when required
• Collaborate with the wider team during the weekly on-site day
