Network Test Engineer

Our client, a global player in financial messaging and critical infrastructure services, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with strong expertise in routing, switching, network security, and testing. The consultant will join the CABN (Core and Backbone Networks) cluster within the Network Services Tribe and contribute to strategic network transformation projects, including core network evolution, cloud migration initiatives, and encryption technology upgrades.

The role requires deep hands-on experience with Juniper technologies, high-scale IP networking, network automation, and advanced testing methodologies. This is an opportunity to work on highly secure and resilient networks supporting global financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, validation, and implementation of core and backbone network evolution projects.
• Support network upgrades, migrations, and encryption technology deployments.
• Perform advanced routing, switching, and SD-WAN configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and execute comprehensive network test plans, including automated test scripts and scenarios.
• Utilize network testing tools (e.g., Spirent, Ixia, traffic generators) to validate performance, security, and reliability.
• Document configurations, test results, and technical procedures for internal teams and audits.
• Collaborate within agile squads and deliver work autonomously.
• Support the integration of cloud components (AWS, Azure, or GCP) into network architectures.
• Ensure the reliability, stability, and security of network services throughout project transitions.

Required Technical Skills

Core Networking (Expert – 10+ years)

• IP routing (OSPF, BGP)
• Switching (VLANs, STP, link aggregation)
• Core network architectures
• VPN technologies
• DNS, DHCP, routing tables, tunneling

Juniper Technology (Senior – 6–9 years)

• Junos OS
• MX, SRX, EX series
• Routing, security, and firewall configuration on Juniper platforms

Network Test Automation (Senior – 6–9 years)

• Automated test design and execution
• Python, Ansible, or similar automation tools
• Integration of test scripts into CI/CD pipelines

SD-WAN (Professional – 4–5 years)

• SD-WAN design, deployment, or troubleshooting
• Vendor experience (e.g., Juniper, Cisco Viptela, Fortinet, VMware)

Domain Knowledge

• Network Testing Tools (Senior – 6–9 years): Ixia, Spirent, Wireshark, tcpdump
• Public Cloud Knowledge (Professional – 4–5 years): AWS, Azure, GCP networking, transit gateways, VPC/VNET, security groups
• Testing Methodology (Senior – 6–9 years): Test planning, test case design, acceptance criteria, performance and failover testing

General Skills

• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

• Excellent communication and documentation skills
