Job Description Summary
We are looking for a new colleague to join our team as a Systems Engineer in a temporary position covering maternity leave until September 30, 2027. Please note that this role requires working on-site at our headquarters in Helsinki.
Systems Engineering is a cross-functional discipline focused on an integrated approach, mindset, and process. It encompasses activities that address both business and technical needs to deliver high-quality medical device products that meet user requirements and expectations.
As a Systems Engineer, together with our experienced core team members, you will execute a structured process for designing, creating, and optimizing systems. This includes identifying and quantifying system requirements, developing alternative design concepts, performing risk and impact analyses, selecting and implementing the best solutions, and verifying proper integration and execution. The process spans the entire product life cycle — from concept to production.
This role involves planning and executing departmental operations or focusing on technical activities within the discipline. You will work with a degree of autonomy while adhering to established policies and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Together with program manager and core team ensures that system engineering tasks are planned, allocated and executed align with program scope and schedule
- Work with clinicians to define use cases and translate use cases to technical requirement specifications
- Work with the design team and design control processes from requirements development and design planning to design transfer and maintain DHF
- Development of user requirements and system requirements
- Conduct and support risk evaluation and failure mode analysis activities and create risk management documentation accordingly
- Develop tests and test procedures for hardware prototypes & systems (and for software if applicable)
- Execute tests and summarize in design verification, validation and transfer results
- Collaborates with different stakeholders to ensure that usability, and clinical evaluation and study activities are executed per program needs
- Ensure compliance to medical regulatory standards during test development, execution and reporting, and support regulatory clearances and submissions
- Manage interface between components that are implemented in different teams.
- In minimum bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Hardware or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- Several years experience in medical device or in other highly regulated industry
- Experience with requirement management and defect reporting tools
- Experience in advanced measurement technology and testing
- Experience in developing complex engineering products including hardware (and software)
- Knowledge in controlled production and manufacturing environment
- Good communication, collaboration and documentation skills
- Strong in decision making skills
- Proficiency in writing technical English
- Fluency in English
- EU work permit
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills. Experience in production and manufacturing methods of electric and electronic devices. Capability to utilize AI tools to improve efficiency.
