Role Overview

We are seeking an Investment Banking Analyst to join our Frankfurt team. This role offers exposure to cross‑border transactions, German‑language client work, and collaboration with senior bankers across multiple product and industry groups. You will be an integral part of small deal teams, taking on significant responsibility, and contributing to all phases of transaction execution.

This position is ideal for candidates with strong financial and analytical skills, fluency in German and English, and the ambition to build a career in investment banking within one of the most competitive financial hubs in Europe.


Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis & Valuation – Build and maintain complex financial, valuation, and merger models; perform comparable company, precedent transaction, and DCF analyses.
  • Industry & Company Research – Conduct in‑depth research on industries, companies, and markets to support pitch books, client meetings, and live mandates.
  • Transaction Execution Support – Assist in drafting marketing materials, investor decks, and transaction documents; coordinate due diligence processes with clients and counterparties.
  • Client Interaction – Participate in client meetings and calls; support senior bankers in relationship management.
  • Cross-Border Collaboration – Work closely with colleagues across Jefferies’ international offices to execute multi‑jurisdictional transactions.
  • Market Monitoring – Track developments in financial markets, M&A activity, and capital flows relevant to our client base.
  • Skills & Qualifications

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field from a leading university.
    • 1‑2 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, M&A advisory, or a completed investment banking internship (Frankfurt or EMEA preferred).
    • Strong technical skills in financial modelling, valuation, and corporate finance concepts.
    • Fluency in German and English (both written and spoken).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); knowledge of Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or Capital IQ an advantage.
    • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team-oriented environment with high attention to detail.

    Preferred:

    • Experience in cross-border transactions and an understanding of German corporate law/business culture.
    • Knowledge of local regulatory requirements for capital markets and M&A transactions.
